why stop at positive psychology?

Over the years, I've watched the nascent field of positive psychology grow by leaps and bounds. This blog seeks to incorporate the latest in positive psychology, but also draw from other academic disciplines that can lead to self-empowerment, or increased mental well-being. I have a tentative therapeutic approach that I currently call "positive behavioral choice" therapy. This therapy is designed to fuse positive psychology with an understanding of behavioral economics and choice architecture to create a more comprehensive and effective approach to improve mental health. As this blog expands, I hope to create an even better approach that draws lessons from a broad array of concepts and scientific research that I feel can further self-understanding or mental health. As you will see, the list of relevant subjects is expansive. Stay tuned as I turn an insatiable thirst for knowledge and innovation into digestible blog posts designed to improve and revolutionize the way we think of "mental health". It's a grandiose and massive undertaking, but the benefit of having such an ambitious goal is that even a complete failure at the overall goal is still a success. ;) -Lane
